We've shipped a big round of brewery improvements today, touching everything from how you record volume changes to how excise tax is tracked across your tanks. Here's what's new:
Smarter Volume Change Forms
The Record Volume Change form has been overhauled. You can now select which tank the change applies to directly from a dropdown — only tanks with active volume are shown, and if you open the form from a specific step, the right tank is pre-selected automatically.
The form now shows a live preview of the resulting volume as you type, and the Loss/Gain toggle instantly updates the calculation so you always know what the ending volume will be before you save.
Clearer Tank Actions
The Equipment Allocation table now surfaces Adjust Volume and Empty Tank actions directly in the action menu for any tank that has active volume — no more hunting for where to record a spillage or a tank transfer out.
Excise Tax Improvements
- Retroactive excise correction: You can now toggle excise tax reporting on a tank step after the fact — useful for correcting records where a fermenter was miscategorized.
- Packaging protection (BC): For BC customers, BarSight will now block packaging product out of a non-taxable tank into a taxable destination, preventing excise reporting errors at the source.
Multi-Tank Batch Fixes
Batches running across multiple tanks now correctly track volume changes — when you move to the next step, the transfer volume pre-fills from the actual tank volume (not the total batch remaining), and the batch remaining is updated as a delta so other active tanks aren't affected.
