Merge Product Recipes
The Problem
When you import products and sales data from another system, BarSight creates placeholder "Imported" recipes to keep everything connected. But once you've set up your real recipes with proper ingredients and steps, those empty imported recipes just clutter up your product pages.
The Solution
Recipe merging lets you combine two recipes into one. All your historical batches, packaged goods, and order data move from the old recipe to the new one, and the old recipe disappears. Your reports stay accurate, and your recipe list stays clean.
How to Use It
- Go to Brewery → Products and select your product
- Click the recipe you want to remove (the imported one)
- Click the Merge Recipe button in the toolbar
- Select the recipe you want to keep from the dropdown
- Click Merge and confirm the action

What Gets Moved
- All batches linked to the old recipe
- Packaged inventory from those batches
- Historical order data and sales records
Pro Tip
Before merging, make sure your "keep" recipe has all the ingredients and steps set up correctly. Once merged, the old recipe is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
