Set Inventory Warning & Alert Levels to Never Run Out
The Problem
It's brew day morning. You open the cold room to grab hops for your IPA and discover you're completely out of Citra. Your distributor needs two days to deliver. Your brew day is ruined, your production schedule is thrown off, and you're scrambling to find alternative suppliers. If only you'd known you were running low last week, you could have ordered in time.
The Solution
Inventory Warning & Alert Levels give you automatic notifications before you run out of critical ingredients. Set a yellow "warning" threshold (e.g., 5kg remaining) and a red "alert" threshold (e.g., 2kg remaining). BarSight highlights low-stock items on your inventory dashboard and can send notifications so you can reorder before it's too late.
How to Use It
- Navigate to Brewery → Inventory
- Click on an inventory item (hops, malt, yeast, etc.)
- Find the Stock Levels section in the item settings
- Set your thresholds:
- Warning Level: Amount that triggers yellow warning (e.g., 5kg)
- Alert Level: Amount that triggers red alert (e.g., 2kg)
- Click Save
When your inventory drops to the warning level, the item turns yellow on your inventory list. At the alert level, it turns red. You'll know at a glance what needs reordering.

Pro Tip
Set warning levels based on your supplier's lead time. If your hop distributor needs 5 days to deliver and you use 1kg per week, set your warning at 6-7kg. You'll get notified with plenty of time to reorder before running out.
