Transfer Inventory Between Locations with Full Tracking

Transfer Inventory Between Locations with Full Tracking

The Problem

Your production brewery is across town from your taproom. You packaged 20 kegs at the brewery yesterday and dropped them off at the taproom this morning. Now your inventory is wrong—the brewery shows 20 kegs you don't have, and the taproom doesn't show the kegs you just received. Without tracking transfers, you have no idea what's actually where, and your inventory reports are useless.

The Solution

Inventory transfers let you move stock between locations while maintaining a complete audit trail. Record exactly what moved, when it moved, and where it went. Your inventory stays accurate across all locations, and you can track keg movements, ingredient shipments, and product deliveries with full accountability.

How to Use It

  1. Navigate to Brewery → Inventory
  2. Find the item you want to transfer (kegs, products, ingredients)
  3. Click on the item to view stock by location
  4. Click Transfer Inventory
  5. Enter transfer details:
    • From Location: Where it's leaving (e.g., Production Brewery)
    • To Location: Where it's going (e.g., Downtown Taproom)
    • Quantity: How much (e.g., 20 kegs)
    • Date: When the transfer happened
  6. Click Complete Transfer

BarSight subtracts the quantity from the source location and adds it to the destination location. Your inventory is accurate, and you have a timestamped record of the transfer.

Pro Tip

Record transfers as soon as they happen—don't wait until the end of the week. Real-time inventory accuracy helps you make better decisions about what to brew next and prevents "where did those kegs go?" mysteries.
