Recording Tips on the Punch Clock

The Problem

Your servers and bartenders collect tips throughout their shift, but by the time they clock out, they've forgotten the exact amounts. Then managers have to chase down tip totals later, delaying tip pool calculations and payroll.

The Solution

The BarSight Punch Clock app prompts employees to enter their cash and card tips right when they clock out. Tips are recorded instantly, flow into the tip pool automatically, and are ready for manager review—no chasing required.

How Employees Enter Tips

1. Open the BarSight app on your phone
2. Tap Clock Out to end your shift
3. When prompted, enter your Cash Tips amount
4. Enter your Card Tips amount
5. Tap Submit to complete your punch

What Happens Next

Your tips are saved to your punch record and automatically added to the daily tip pool. Managers can see all reported tips in the Logbook, and the amounts flow through to payroll when your hours are posted.

Pro Tip

Forgot to enter tips? You have a 15-minute window after clocking out to update your tip amounts. After that, you'll need to ask a manager to adjust them.
