The Packaged Products Page
The Packaged Products Page: A Complete Tour
The Packaged Products page is home base for everything you have packaged and are ready to sell. It shows the batches waiting to be packaged, every lot of finished product you have on hand, and the warnings that tell you when something needs a second look. This guide walks through everything on the page so you know what each button does and what to do when a warning shows up.
Before You Start
- Open the page from Brewery → Packaged Products.
- Viewing the page needs basic packaged product access. Creating products, splitting, adjusting stock, editing lot numbers and bulk actions need edit access to packaged products. If a button is missing or greyed out, ask an administrator to check your access.
- You need at least one facility set up. If you don't have one, the page sends you to Brewery → Settings first.

Switching Facilities
If you have more than one brewing facility, the facility dropdown in the top toolbar controls what you see. Both boxes update instantly without reloading: batches are limited to the selected facility, and packaged inventory only shows lots that have stock at that facility. A lot with nothing on hand at the selected facility is hidden, so switch facilities if you can't find something you expected to see.
Current Batches
The top box lists every batch that is out of the planning stage and still has volume remaining, along with its product, batch number, tank, expected output and what is left to package.
- Click a row to jump straight into packaging that batch.
- Click the batch number to open the batch itself.
- A highlighted row with an info icon means you have presales waiting on that product.
- Lookup Batch lets you search for any batch by number.
Showing and Hiding Batches
If you never package from this page, click Hide Batches in the Current Batches box and the list collapses out of the way. Click Show Batches to bring it back. This is saved per user, so hiding it only affects your own login.
Packaged Inventory
The lower box is your finished product inventory. Each row is a lot of a product in a container, with its SKU, quantity in stock, quantity reserved by orders and current price. The total at the bottom is the estimated value of your inventory at your listed sale prices. Click any row to open the full product page for that lot.
Summary View vs. Detailed View
Use the Summary view and Detailed view buttons in the box header to switch between the two. The choice is saved to your login.
- Summary view combines every lot of the same product and container into a single line. It is great for a quick look at how much of each product you have. Clicking a row shows the individual lots.
- Detailed view lists every lot on its own row with its lot number, packaged date, cost per unit, and whether it is visible to customers. It also adds a checkbox on each row and a three-dot menu.
Why are quick actions and bulk actions only in Detailed view? Both work on one specific lot. A summary line adds up many lots together, so there is no single lot to split, adjust or select. In Summary view the Bulk Action button is greyed out and the three-dot menu is disabled. Switch to Detailed view when you need to make changes.

Viewing Old and Depleted Stock
By default the page only shows product that is in stock. To look back at product that has sold out:
- In the Packaged Inventory header, click Show historical/depleted stock.
- Choose how far back to look: 1, 2, 3, 6 or 12 months.
- Confirm. A banner at the top tells you the date range you are looking at.
Click Show currently in-stock products to go back to the normal view.
Bulk Actions
In Detailed view, tick the checkbox on one or more rows (or the checkbox in the header to select all), then click Bulk Action:
- Transfer Stock moves the selected lots to another facility.
- Apply Default Pricing resets the selected lots to the defaults for their product and packaging group. This resets the price, tax, deposit, recycling fee, weight, SKU and UPC, so use it with care.
The Three-Dot Menu
Each row in Detailed view has a three-dot menu with quick actions:
- Split breaks a container down into smaller ones, for example turning one larger keg into two smaller kegs. The quantity you enter is the number of containers you are opening up, not the number of new containers you will fill. You choose the new package size on the next screen.
- Edit Stock Level adjusts the count after a physical inventory check. Enter the correct quantity and a note (it defaults to the date of the count). Products with tracked items, such as serialized kegs, cannot be adjusted this way.
- Edit Lot Number corrects a lot number at any time and updates the batch packaging record as well. See Fix a Packaged Product's Lot Number Anytime.

Creating Packaged Products Manually
Most packaged products come from packaging a batch, but sometimes you need to add stock by hand, such as resale items or stock you had before using BarSight. Click New Packaged Product to see your options:
- New Packaged Product opens a form where you pick the product, an optional recipe, the packaging group, a lot number and the stock quantity. Pricing, tax, deposit and holdback default from your packaging group and can be changed. Leave Use Packaging Inventory ticked if the containers should come out of your packaging inventory.
- New Mixed Product builds a mixed pack, such as a variety case, from several products.
- Import CSV and Download CSV bulk add or update your products. See Importing Packaged Products.
For packaging a finished batch, see Packaging Up a Batch.
Printable Order Sheets
Click Printable Order Sheet to create a printout your sales team or customers can use to place orders. Choose one of three versions:
- Print In Stock Products lists only what you have on hand.
- Print All In Stock & Planned Products adds beers you are brewing, with the expected date.
- Print All Visible Products lists every product that is visible to customers.
Price Lists
The Price Lists button takes you to your price list setup, where you manage pricing for different customers. The View Price List button in the Packaged Inventory box shows your current prices.
Settings Shortcuts
The Settings menu gathers everything related to packaged products in one place:
- Configure Package Groups defines your cans, bottles, kegs and other containers. See Defining Packaging Groups.
- Taxes, GL Accounts and Payment Types are shortcuts to your accounting setup. Each one only appears if you have access to it.
Google Sheets
If Google Sheets is connected, the Google Sheets menu lets you refresh today's count, backfill from a past date, rebuild the sheets, or open the sheet directly. If it isn't connected, the button offers to activate it.
Filtering and Reports
Use Filter Products to quickly narrow the list by product, container, SKU or lot. Print Report in the Packaged Inventory header prints your current package stock.
Warnings and How to Fix Them
When something needs attention, a message appears above the Packaged Inventory list. Here is what each one means.
Google Sheet Out of Sync (red)
What it means: The column layout of your Production Stock Google Sheet no longer matches your available products, usually because a product was added or removed.
How to fix it: Click Rebuild the sheet in the message. Rebuilding clears the existing data on that sheet, so make a copy first if you need the old numbers.
Over-Reserved Stock (yellow)
What it means: Orders have reserved more of a product than you have on hand. Over-reserved products may not show up when adding items to a new order. The row also shows an alert icon next to the Reserved quantity.
How to fix it: Click View affected stock to see each product, its location, the quantity on hand and the quantity reserved. Click a row to open the lot. If your physical count is actually higher, use Edit Stock Level. If the count is correct, adjust the orders that are holding the extra reservation.
Pricing Differences (blue)
What it means: Some lots in stock have a price or tax rate that is different from the default for that product and packaging group. This is not always a problem, since custom pricing is sometimes intentional. Rows with a different price also show a small info icon beside the price.
How to fix it: Click Review pricing details (or Show Pricing Issues in the box header) to compare each lot's price and tax against the default. For one lot, open it and update the price. For many lots, select them in Detailed view and use Bulk Action → Apply Default Pricing.
Row Highlights and Icons
- An alert icon beside the stock quantity means the stock level was manually adjusted.
- An info icon beside the quantity means the lot has been split or has a split pending.
- A red quantity means the stock is negative. Review the lot's history and use Edit Stock Level to correct it.
- Pending rows at the top of the list are mixed products you started but haven't finished. Click one to complete it.
Tips and Best Practices
- Check the Show Pricing Issues list after changing default prices, so older lots don't keep selling at the old price.
- If a product seems to be missing, check the facility dropdown first.
