Make Sure Critical Tasks Never Get Forgotten with Persistent Tasks

The Problem

You create an important task—submit the tax report by Friday, complete the safety inspection by month's end, file the licensing renewal by the deadline. Friday passes. The task disappears from the employee's view. They forgot. Now you're dealing with late fees, compliance violations, or expired licenses. Critical deadlines should never just vanish.

The Solution

Persistent tasks stay visible as "Overdue" until completed, even after their due date passes. Unlike regular tasks that disappear from view, persistent tasks remain in the employee's task list with a red "Overdue" indicator until they're marked complete. Perfect for compliance deadlines, critical one-time tasks, and anything that absolutely must get done.

How to Use It

  1. Navigate to Schedule → Tasks → Calendar
  2. Click + Create Task List
  3. Enter the task name and description
  4. Set your task schedule (usually Static for one-time critical tasks)
  5. Choose the due date
  6. Check the Persistent checkbox
  7. Assign to the responsible employee or role
  8. Save the task

If the employee doesn't complete the task by the due date, it remains visible with an "Overdue" status in red. It won't disappear until someone marks it complete.

Pro Tip

Use persistent tasks sparingly—only for truly critical deadlines like tax filings, safety inspections, licensing renewals, or compliance requirements. Overusing it creates noise and reduces its effectiveness. For routine daily tasks, stick with regular (non-persistent) tasks.
