Quick Item Duplication: Clone Similar Inventory Items

The Problem

You need to add 10 similar inventory items - different sizes of the same product, or variations from the same vendor. Creating each from scratch means re-entering the same category, GL account, tax settings, and storage location every time.

The Solution

Use Save & Duplicate to clone an existing item with all its settings intact. Just change the title and any details that differ - everything else carries over automatically.

How to Use It

1. Navigate to Kitchen → Inventory
2. Open the item you want to duplicate (or create and save a new one first)
3. Click the Save dropdown arrow in the toolbar
4. Select Save & Duplicate Item
5. A new item opens with all settings copied - change the title and any different details
6. Click Save

Pro Tip

Set up one "template" item with your most common settings (category, GL account, tax, storage location), then duplicate it whenever you add similar products.
