Break Tasks into Checklists for Step-by-Step Tracking
The Problem
Your opening checklist has ten different things that need to happen before the doors open. When you assign it as a single task, you have no idea what's actually been done until someone marks the whole thing complete. Did they check the spirit bottles? Stock the taps? Count the till? You're flying blind until the very end.
The Solution
Task checklist items let you break complex tasks into individual steps that employees can check off one by one. You see real-time progress ("3 out of 5 items complete"), and employees can track exactly what they've finished and what's left to do.
How to Use It
- When creating or editing a task list, scroll to the Task Items section
- Click + Add Item for each step in your task
- Enter the Item Title for each step:
- "Check spirit bottle levels"
- "Stock draft beer taps"
- "Count starting cash till"
- Optionally add notes with extra instructions for each item
- Drag and drop to reorder items in the right sequence
- Save the task list
Employees will see each item with its own checkbox. As they complete items, the task shows progress like "3/5 complete" and turns green when fully done.

Pro Tip
Order your checklist items in the sequence they should be completed. Employees will work through them top to bottom, so put "Unlock doors" before "Turn on lights" before "Start POS system."
