Split an Order Line Across Two Lots

One powerful feature at a time.

Split an Order Line Across Two Lots

The Problem

A customer ordered three kegs. You assigned them to a lot, but by the time it's ready to ship, only one keg is left on that lot. The other two are sitting on a different lot, or even at a different facility. Do you really have to delete the line and rebuild it twice?

The Solution

Split Line breaks one order line into two without touching price, tax, or the stock you've already assigned. The original line keeps its lot with the reduced quantity, and the new line becomes a presale waiting for you to pick where the rest comes from. Your order totals stay exactly the same.

How to Use It

  1. Open the order from Brewery → Orders and click the line item you need to split
  2. Click Split Line at the bottom of the edit window
  3. Enter how many units to move to the new line (for example, 2 from a line of 3)
  4. Click Split. The order refreshes with two lines: the original with its stock still attached, and a new presale line
  5. Click the new line and Select the lot you want it to ship from

Split Line works on both stock-assigned lines and presale lines. If the line only has one unit, the button is greyed out since there's nothing to split.

Pro Tip

If the remaining stock is at another facility, BarSight notices when you go to select a lot for the new line and offers to transfer it in for you. One click and the transfer and the assignment happen together.
