Welcome Back Seasonal Employees by Re-Activating Their Profile
One powerful feature at a time.
Welcome Back Seasonal Employees by Re-Activating Their Profile
The Problem
Patio season ends and your summer crew heads back to school or off to the ski hill. You don't want them cluttering your schedule and employee list all winter, but you also don't want to re-enter their details when they return next spring.
The Solution
Terminate seasonal employees when the season wraps up, then Re-Activate them when they come back. Their profile stays in BarSight, so their contact details, roles and history are all still there. A returning employee is one click away from being back on your active staff list.
How to Use It
At the end of the season:
- Open the Employee List and click the employee's name.
- Click Terminate / Suspend, then choose Terminate.
- Confirm. They are removed from future shifts and from your active employee list, and they can no longer sign in to your account.
When they come back:
- On the Employee List, switch the filter to Show terminated employees.
- Open the returning employee's profile.
- Click Re-Activate and confirm.
They are back on your active list with access to BarSight restored, ready to be scheduled again.

Good to Know
- Termination can't go through if the employee still has posted shifts after the termination date.
- Re-activating does not put them back on the shifts they were removed from. Add them to your new schedule as you would anyone else.
- Past shifts, hours and messages are not deleted.
Pro Tip
Review your roles and pay rates on the profile right after re-activating. A returning employee may be moving into a new role or earning a raise this year.
